Grass Pitch Funding Across Stamford Park Trust Venues

PITCHPOWER FUNDING SUPPORT ACROSS STAMFORD PARK TRUST FOOTBALL PITCHES

A successful Football Foundation Funding Bid to support and enhance our grass pitch maintenance budgets across all four of our Grass Football Pitches has seen a marked improvement in the durability and quality of our football pitches at both Ashton Sixth Form College and Longdendale High School

With £21,000 of funding awarded at both sites we have been able to complete our most enhanced end of season renovation schedule across all 4 pitches with a carefully planned out regime in place now across the next five years thanks to PitchPower funding support from the Football Foundation.

Both Ashton Sixth Form College and Longdendale High School pitches have at least two verti drains each year, re-seed, twice yearly fertiliser and between 40-60 tonnes of specialist sand distribution. Pitches are mowed more frequently during peak growth seasons and line marked fortnightly during peak season periods.

Not only does this support the students at each school and college venue with their weekly lessons and football fixtures but it also now sees our pitches and venues busy with grassroots football of a weekend. Clubs we are now working with include:

  • Hollingworth Juniors Football Club
  • Dukinfield Tigers Football Club
  • Stalybridge Celtic Football Club
  • Dom Doyle Football Club
  • Angels United Football Club

As we continue to expand our community provision across all Stamford Park Trust venues we are excited to continue the working partnership with the Football Foundation and supporting all our grassroots football clubs across our venues as we continue to improve our facilities and service provision.
