FREE Knives Self Defence Course

Rocky Seniors are inviting all 13-18 year olds to a FREE 1 hour Knives Self Defence course on Friday 25th January 17:00 – 18:00 here at Astley Sports Village.

As part of their Gloves Up Knives Down campaign this 1 hour self defence course provides an insight into the dangers of Knife crime, the common ways offenders will try and use a knife and how to not only defend yourself and get to safety but also how to treat a knife wound as part of the first aid module.

We want to stress to those who are attending and for parents who are looking to book their child’s place is that the session isn’t about trying to fight someone with a Knife. The first action point is to always escape the area where possible, however there will be occasions when this is not always possible and to learn some simple yet highly effective defence techniques can be the difference between life and death.

With knife crime sadly on the rise this session will provide many valuable techniques, first aid treatment responses and that confidence to avoid a knife attack or be able to use self defence to act quickly to then get away from the situation, get to safety and get help.

Club Noticeboard

As we move into the summer holidays we are re-launching our 11-13 Kids Gym Club here at Astley Sports Village. We know for many families either holidays have been cancelled, families are running out of activities to do at home and it may be difficult keeping those 11-13yrs occupied and physically active.

We are now phasing the return of our 11-13 Kids Gym Club on the below days and times throughout Summer with the view to return these on a weekly block session basis from September.

Summer Sessions are:

Block 1: 10:30 – 11:15 Monday 10th,11th & 13th August. (Fully Booked)

Block 2: 10:30 – 11:15 Monday 17th, 18th & 20th August. (Fully Booked)

Block 3: 16:30 – 17:15 Tuesday 11th, 18th & 19th August. (3 spaces left)

Each block is just £3.00 per session and needs to be booked and paid for in advance to secure your child’s place.

Session Format:

45 minute time in the Gym
Under the full supervision & instruction of our Personal Trainers
Focusing on fitness improvement, strength and muscle tone.
Great for physical but also mental health & well-being
